CROWN SASSAFRAS

Botanical Name: Sassafras albidum, S. officinale

Origin: Eastern USA

Description: More commonly seen in the USA than here, Sassafras somewhat resembles a light brown Ash in appearance. The logs are usually flat sliced and the veneer has a distinctive aroma. It is fairly soft and light in weight, often with a pleasing crown structure and is used mainly on furniture.
