CROWN MUNINGA

Botanical Name: Pterocarpus angolensis

Origin: Central and southern Africa

Description: Not commonly available these days, the odd log of Muninga is occasionally sliced into veneer. It is a close botanical relative and quite similar to other African Padauk varieties but is brown and red rather than all over red. This attractive veneer is mainly used for panelling and high class furniture.
