HORNBEAM

CROWN HORNBEAM
CROWN HORNBEAM
Botanical Name: Carpinus betulus
Origin: Europe and Western Asia
Description: Said to be Europe’s hardest timber. Suitable logs of Hornbeam are flat sliced to produce crown and straight-grained veneers that are creamy white in colour, sometimes displaying a degree of mottle figure. Not commonly used, but this species has considerably more character than some other light veneers and can be a good choice for special furniture and interiors.
