North eastern America
Description:
Hugely popular for many years now, this veneer has been a favourite for furniture and interior joinery work, shopfitting etc., sometimes being stained to the colour of Mahogany. Usually flat sliced to produce as much crown material as possible. Has a lustrous appearance but frequently contains gum or resin pockets. Some logs yield figured veneer in varying degrees from a light shimmer to a very pretty strong mottle. American Cherry darkens very quickly on exposure. Also available in 1.5 and 2.5 mm thickness.
