Description:
Sometimes used as a substitute for Mahogany which it resembles. Colour can be a little variable from light pinky-brown to a deeper red. Generally straight-grained, sometimes displaying a very slight figure, the veneer finishes well and is used for cabinet work and interior joinery.
Oil from the seeds is used for medicinal purposes, especially in south America.
