Description:
The large logs are almost always quartered to produce a fine-striped attractive golden yellow to light brown veneer, darkening with further exposure. The grain is usually somewhat interlocked and the texture quite fine and lustrous. In the past it was sometimes used as a substitute for Teak, however export of this species from Africa is now very strictly controlled.
